The Tiger Quoll conservation experience offers you the chance to work alongside researchers to conserve one of the world’s most elusive animals, assisting in a hands-on way with vital research which will ensure the survival of not only Tiger Quolls, but also the beautiful Great Ocean Road landscapes they depend upon. Participants stay in beautiful, sustainable accommodation, dine on local organic foods and venture into the Australian bush to conserve habitat, learn about Tiger Quoll and landscape ecology, learn research techniques, survey habitat, birds and small mammals, assist with the care of resident Quolls and work alongside the Tiger Quoll detection dog to help conserve the wild population.

The objective of the program is to improve the quality of life for our partner communities – and alleviate problems such as water shortage, a particular problem in the drier seasons, decrease dependency on diesel generator power

Escape the day-to-day and explore the stunning coastline of Farewell Spit, Golden Bay. See the spectacular wildlife and discover the fascinating marine ecology of the area whilst making a real contribution to our long-term scientific research project. The area has a rich history from early Maori, for whom it remains a very special place, through to the pioneering European settlers who established pasture and sought riches of gold and coal. Nowadays the spit is a highly protected marine reserve and a summer home to thousands of migratory arctic shorebirds, black swans and colonies of NZ fur seals. To help protect this fragile environment, our project aims to measure the health of the intertidal ecology by exploring the link between grazing birds, sea grass and sand-dwelling animals.

This voluntourism project will take you to the strikingly beautiful coastline of Western Australia to conduct a survey of iconic Australian flatback turtles. You will measure and tag turtles, as well as observe and record data about their nesting behaviour.

You will be teaching at a school where the children are from underprivileged countries and communities. A lot of the children come from different backgrounds and countries such as Somalia, Ethiopia and the South Pacific islands.
